Athens, Greece – Greek media said that the Turkish Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAVs), who have achieved great success in Syria, Libya and Azerbaijan, will make Greece very difficult in the Aegean and Mediterranean. Stating that Turkey is actively using UCAVs in the Aegean and Mediterranean, Greek media pointed out that the Greek Air Force was forced to air F-16s against Turkish UCAVs, which was also costly.
Stating that their armored and mechanized formations were vulnerable to UCAVs, Greek media noted that the success of the Turkish UCAVs used by the Azerbaijani army against Armenia in Karabakh should be taken into account by the Greek government.
Greek media noted that while Turkey, which has created its own technology for UCAVs, has spread the use of unmanned aerial vehicles throughout the country, Greece is only watching developments, Turkish UCAVs said that the Greek Air Force in the Aegean will be very difficult.
“The effective use of Turkish drones has been a key factor in Azerbaijan’s gains in Karabakh. Especially in early 2020, during Operation Spring Shield, the Turkish army performed various tasks such as unmanned aerial reconnaissance, surveillance and target search.”
In both Syria and Libya, the Greek media mentioned that the Bayraktar TB-2 had achieved great success against the Russian Pantsir anti-aircraft systems, emphasizing that the same success was shown in Karabakh. “The Turkish UCAVs brutally destroyed the anti-aircraft belonging to Armenia. Of course, especially the Turkish MAM-L proved its power. In the first two weeks of the conflict alone, the rumors that Azerbaijan destroyed about 60 anti-aircraft systems are probably true,” the statement said.
“Of course, no one can ignore the importance of drones in Psychological Operations,” Greek media said, noting that since the first day of the conflict in Karabakh, Turkish UCAVs have played a major role in demoralizing the Armenian army by publishing videos about the neutralization of Armenian tanks. Our country has also had a taste of these” psychological operations,” he said.
Turkey’s TCG Anadolu aircraft carrier will be equipped with unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs), the news said, adding that President Erdogan’s “bad neighbor made us the host.” The TCG Anadolu aircraft carrier will be built after the TCG Anadolu enters in naval armed forces in 2021.
