Athens, Greece – Recent aggressive actions by Greece are “going against the spirit” of de-escalation in Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean, sabotaging and dynamiting peace, security and stability in the region.

Turkey’s legal rights and interests in the Eastern Mediterranean and the decision to reopen part of Marash (Varosha), a former resort fenced off and abandoned in no-man’s land in the northeast of Cyprus since Turkey’s 1974 peace operation of the island has been warmly welcomed by the international community and business investors and entrepreneurs.

During a visit to the Marash (Varosha) in Northern Cyprus on Sunday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for a “two-state” solution of the Cyprus problem.
