Ankara, Turkey – Central Bank President Murat Uysal was dismissed. Naci Agbal was appointed to the vacant central bank presidency.

Central Bank Governor Murat Uysal was dismissed and replaced by former Finance Minister Naci Agbal.

According to the decision of the president in today’s issue of the Official Gazette, Murat Uysal, the Chairman (Governor) of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, was dismissed. Former Finance Minister Naci Agbal was appointed to the post vacated by Uysal.

Murat Uysal was again succeeded by Murat Çetinkaya, who was dismissed by President Erdogan on 6 July 2019.

Uysal became the second central bank president to be sacked in 16 months. Former Finance Minister Naci Agbal was appointed to the post vacated by Uysal.

Ibrahim Şenel was appointed as the head of the Presidential strategy and Budget, which was vacated by Naci Agbal.

In addition, Nihat Zeybekci was appointed as a member of the Presidential Economic Policy Board.
