Ankara, Turkey – A harsh reaction from Ministry of Foreign Affairs to colonialist France’s Macron. Reacting to French President Macron’s remarks, the foreign ministry said: “it is not Macron’s place to determine the maritime jurisdiction of any country in the Mediterranean Sea or any other geography.” In a statement, the ministry also said: “Macron, whose all insidious plans in foreign policy were thrown into the water, whose dirty games were disrupted , attacks Turkey and our president every day unabated.”
The Foreign Ministry reacted to French President Emmanuel Macron’s remarks. A statement from the ministry said:
French President Macron, again arrogant with his old colonial reflexes, made a statement trying to teach a lesson from the top curtain. In fact, Macron’s statements are an expression of his own incompetence and the helplessness he is in. Because the days when they ran freely all over the world are gone. “Macron, whose all insidious plans in foreign policy were thrown into the water, whose dirty games were disrupted , attacks Turkey and our president every day unabated.”
Turkey’s president is one of the leaders elected with the highest vote share in Europe. Mr. President has always taken his power from the Turkish people. The Turkish people and government have always been and will continue to be the only heart in the face of such delusions.
It is not Macron’s place to determine the maritime jurisdiction of any country in the Mediterranean or any other geography. France should stand in favor of compromise and dialogue, instead of blindly advocating Greece and the GCA, which have taken monotheistic and provocative steps and taken the EU hostage for their narrow interests. This is also a requirement of our Europeanism and NATO alliance.
The French President, with his individual and nationalist stance, is encouraging tension and putting the great interests of Europe and the EU at risk.
It is a complete inconsistency that France, which does not even have borders to the Eastern Mediterranean and still acts with an understanding of colonialism in the region, criticizes Turkey’s partnership, sincerity, cooperation and humanitarian and entrepreneurial foreign policy in the region. We leave the helpless situation in which Macron, whose support in the public is constantly declining, to the discretion of the French people.
Turkey accuses Macron of ‘colonialist games’
A spokesperson for the ruling Justice and Development Party on Thursday dismissed calls by France’s Emmanuel Macron for the European Union to take a common position on Turkey as “colonialist games.”
“Macron persists with colonialism, while our president continues to defend the interests of the oppressed peoples, protect the peace and frustrate the colonialists’ games,” AKP spokesman Omer Celik said.
“Turkey is no longer a partner in this region,” Macron told reporters on Thursday ahead of an emergency summit in Corsica of European Union countries that border the Mediterranean Sea. “We Europeans need to be clear and firm” with the Turkish government about its “inadmissible behavior,” Macron said.
Macron added that Turkey had “intensified provocations in a way that is not worthy of a great state. The Turkish people are a great people and deserve something else,” according to Agence-France Presse.
“This is an old and immoral game of the colonialists. They offered a false show of love to exploit the people, but targeted patriotic leaders,” Celik said in response to Macron’s comment.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry has also described Macron’s comments as “arrogant” and a sign “of his own weakness and despair.”
