Istanbul, Turkey – Pianist, composer and commentator Timur Selcuk, a master of Turkish music, died yesterday at the age of 74 due to a heart attack. Selcuk will be sent on his final journey in Istanbul today.

Pianist, composer and commentator Timur Selcuk, son of Münir Nurettin Selcuk, one of the Masters of Turkish music, and Şehime Erton, a theatre artist, died yesterday at the age of 74.

The artist, who has left 50 years behind in his musical life, has signed memorable songs such as “for those who leave”, “Where Are you”, “Spanish Tavern”, “Today Tomorrow Always”, will be sent off on his final journey in Istanbul today.

It was announced that Selçuk’s funeral would be buried at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery at 14.00 after noon prayers today.
