Ankara, Turkey – Japan, one of the countries that can enter Turkey without a visa, has terminated visa-free travel as of October 1, 2020. The Covid-19 outbreak was cited as justification.
Japanese authorities have ruled out visa-free travel because of the Covid-19 outbreak. Accordingly, Japan will also not accept travel for tourist purposes.
“As part of the Note received from the Japanese Embassy in Ankara, it has been reported that our citizens will need to travel to Japan by obtaining a visa from October 1, 2020. In addition, the note in question states that the application should be considered as a mandatory measure to be taken within the scope of the epidemic, and it is reported that tourist trips to Japan will not be possible, and all official passports will be exempt from visas”
