Budapest, Hungary – Hungary has announced that it wants to take part in the reconstruction of Azerbaijani settlements liberated from the Armenian occupation.

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Peter Szijjarto announced that his country wants to play a role in the reconstruction of the regions liberated by Azerbaijan from occupation.

“After the Nagorno-Karabakh crisis, Hungary will help rebuild Azerbaijan,” Szijjarto said after a videoconferencing meeting with Azerbaijani Minister of Labor and Social Security Sahil Babayev.” said.

Noting that his country has always supported Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, Szijjarto said that with the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh crisis, they discussed the role of Hungarian companies in the reconstruction process of the war zone.

Hungarian Eximbank has allocated a budget of $ 100 million to Hungarian companies that want to participate in the process, Szijjarto said, and the Hungarian government has also offered 25 thousand euros in aid for the demining of the region.

Noting that natural gas supplies are vital for Central Europe, Szijjarto said that from 2025, Hungary can buy natural gas from Azerbaijan through the pipeline between Azerbaijan and Europe.
