Brussels, Belgium – Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu’s call to the EU about Greece leaving immigrants, ignored by EU’s Frontex, to die in cold waters of Aegean sea.

On the other hand, a written statement was made by the Izmir Foca Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the issue.
In the statement, “On December 19, 2020, at 07.10, after receiving the information that there was a group of irregular immigrants in 3 life raft off Aslan Burnu in Foça district of Izmir province, 2 Coast Guard boats were immediately assigned to the scene. As a result of the search and rescue activity, 31 irregular migrants were rescued in total. While they were beaten by the Greek elements by the rescued migrants, their valuables were taken and they were put on life raft to be released to Turkish territorial waters, 5 people fell into the sea, 2 of the 5 people who fell were taken alive from the sea, 3 lost their lives, 3 It was stated that the irregular migrant was taken on a separate boat.
