Karachi, Pakistan – The third of MILGEM Corvettes exported by Turkey to Pakistan will be sledged in Karachi. National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar will also attend the ceremony.
The third of MILGEM Corvettes exported from Turkey to Pakistan will be sledged at a ceremony attended by National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar in Karachi tomorrow. According to a statement from the ministry, the export of 4 MILGEM Corvettes to Pakistan, made by Asfat, which is the main contractor of the Ministry of National Defense, continues as planned.
As part of the project, which is the largest export breakthrough realized by the domestic defense industry, two of the 4 MILGEM corvettes are being built under the command of the Istanbul Shipyard, and the other two are being built at the Karachi Shipyard.
In this context, the third ship of the project will be sledged at a ceremony scheduled for tomorrow in Pakistan. National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, Pakistan Defense Production Minister Zubaida Jalal Khan and a large number of invitees are expected to attend the ceremony in Karachi.
The first ship is scheduled to be delivered to the Pakistani Navy in 2023, in accordance with its schedule despite the coronavirus.
