Ankara, Turkey – President Erdogan met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the phone. During the meeting, the Nagorno-Karabakh issue was discussed.

President Erdogan spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin after the results of the US presidential election were announced.

According to a statement from the Presidential Communications Office, Turkey-Russia relations and regional developments, especially in Nagorno-Karabakh, were discussed.

At the meeting, President Erdogan said that Armenia should withdraw from the occupied territory of Azerbaijan, noting that Azerbaijan’s counter-operation is limited to its territory.

Erdogan stressed that the Armenian leadership must be persuaded to sit at the negotiating table with reason, stressing that ending this conflict with a permanent solution and stabilizing the region is of key importance.
