Yerevan, Armenia – The Azerbaijani army shot down 2 Russian-made Su-25 fighter jets belonging to the Armenian Air Force.

In a statement, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said that at around 13.18 and 13.20 local time, 2 Russian-made Su-25 warplanes belonging to Armenia attempted to attack Azerbaijani positions in the direction of Gubadli.

Both aircraft were destroyed by the Azerbaijani Air Defense Forces, the statement said.

In a statement, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said that the clashes continued mainly in the Khojavend, Fuzuli and Gubadli aspects of the front.

In different parts of the front, 2 T-72 tanks belonging to the Armenian army, 2 Grad missile systems, 14 different types of cannons, several outposts and 6 cars were destroyed and a large number of military personnel were neutralized.

It was emphasized that the front was under the control of the Azerbaijani army.

Russia, which wants to play a “neutral intermediary” role in the process of decimating Nagorno-Karabakh from occupation, has supplied 94 percent of the military equipment supplied by Armenia over the past 5 years, according to the Stockholm Institute for International Peace Studies (SIPRI) report.
