Yerevan, Armenia – Armenian President Armen Sarkissian held a series of meetings with representatives of opposition parties within the framework of political consultations initiated by him, reported the press office of the Armenian leader.

According to the presidential press service, Sargsyan met with a member of the ARF (Armenian Revolutionary Federation) Dashnaktsutyun Bureau Armen Rustamyan and a member of the party’s Supreme Body Artsvik Minasyan. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation in the country, in particular, the statement signed by the heads of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan and its provisions. The ARF representatives, considering the current authorities to be the main responsible, expressed their concern and concern about the existing risks, presented their vision of overcoming the current situation.

It was emphasized that there should be a nationwide consensus around the settlement of the Karabakh conflict. President Sarkissian stressed the importance of maintaining the stability of the country and social unity. Recall that on November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a statement declaring a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10 2020. Azerbaijan and Armenia stop at their positions.

The peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is deployed along the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the corridor connecting Nagorno-Karabakh with the Republic of Armenia. Internally displaced persons and refugees are returning to the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding areas under the control of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. The exchange of prisoners of war, other detained persons and bodies of the dead is carried out.

All economic and transport links of the region are unblocked. The Republic of Armenia guarantees the safety of transport links between the western regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic in order to organize the unimpeded movement of citizens, vehicles and goods in both directions. Transport control is exercised by the bodies of the Border Guard Service of the FSB of Russia.
