Athens, Greece – Bayraktar AKINCI TIHA (Assault Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), which was developed nationally and originally by Baykar within the scope of the AKINCI TIHA project carried out under the leadership of the Presidency of Defense Industries, has successfully completed another important stage in the ammunition integration process.

Bayraktar AKINCI TIHA, which took off from Çorlu on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 with the KGK-SIHA-82 (Winged Guidance Kit) ammunition developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE, successfully completed the first firing test carried out for the coordinate determined on the sea off the coast of Sinop. The electro-optical camera on AKINCI TIHA and the telemetry antennas on the ground are at a distance of 30 km from the 340 kg ammunition. confirmed that it hit the distant target with high precision.

Altitude record owner

Bayraktar AKINCI TIHA, which recently performed a successful firing test on the target on the sea surface with the Teber-82 Guidance Kit developed by Roketsan, also holds the altitude record in Turkish national aviation history. Continuing its test flights, Bayraktar AKINCI B TIHA broke the altitude record of Turkish aviation history by climbing to an altitude of 40,170 feet in its test flight on March 11, 2022.

On operational mission

Bayraktar AKINCI TIHAs, which entered the inventory with the ceremony attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on August 29, 2021, are currently actively used by our security forces in operational duties. So far, 6 Bayraktar AKINCI TIHAs have entered the security forces inventory.

Export agreement signed with three countries

Export contracts have been signed with 3 countries for Bayraktar AKINCI TIHA. Within the scope of the contracts, Bayraktar AKINCI TIHA and ground systems are expected to be delivered periodically starting from 2023. Realizing its first national UAV export in 2012, Baykar completed the export of 664 million dollars A/UAV system in 2021, generating more than 80% of its revenues from exports. Negotiations continue with many countries that are interested in the Bayraktar AKINCI TIHA.

Long Range Lethal Strike – Winged Guidance Kit (KGK)

KGK is a wing-assisted guidance kit that converts existing unguided 1000 lb MK83 and 500 lb MK82 general purpose bombs into long-range, air to ground smart weapons. With KGK, the bombs have the capability of precision hitting of target from 100 km range, in all weather conditions, providing aircraft to complete the mission safely without entering into enemy air defense zone.
